In this episode, I look at the other side of that coin. How do you make all that vanilla advice actually work for you in your day-to-day life? 

In this conversation, I break down what I mean by standard health, wellness, lifestyle, and weight-loss advice, and then I give you eight tips to make this advice work for you. Because at the end of the day, lifestyle, weight-loss, and fitness programs and types of diets can be helpful starting points or even goals, but they are too generic. They don’t tell you how to adjust, what to use, and what to ditch to make the advice work for you.

  1. Have a really clear understanding of what you like and what you don’t like.
  2. Approach advice with skepticism. 
  3. Put away your credit card, because you don’t need to spend money.
  4. Master the basics.
  5. Learn what it means to progress.
  6. Get clear on what “maintenance” looks like for you.
  7. Consider your past experiences.
  8. Avoid promises of quick fixes and specific promises.
